"The Institute of Human Virology needed to increase its productive use of Sage 300, and chose AWCape because of its experience in Sage 300 projects and its African footprint".

-Mr. Debo Olateju, Director of Finance

The Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria (IHVN) has enhanced its return on investment in the Sage 300(formerly Accpac) business management solution by investing in training for its senior management and end-users. The training was conducted by Sage Business Partner AWCape at their training academy in Cape Town. AWCape’s training facilities were recently upgraded to international standards in order to cater for delegates from across the African continent.

The Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria (IHVN) was established in 2004 as an affiliate of the Institute of Human Virology, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore in the United States of America. It has grown to become a leading local non-governmental organization addressing the HIV/AIDS crises in Nigeria through the development of infrastructure for treatment, care, prevention, and support for people living with and those affected by HIV/AIDS but has now expanded its services to other infectious and non-infectious diseases including, cancer, tuberculosis, malaria and other diseases.

All these facilities and treatment centers comprise of primary, secondary and tertiary health centers in twenty two states. Eleven of the hospitals it supports are University Teaching Hospitals. IHVN, which has expanded activities to meet the growing public health challenges in Nigeria, has grown into an organization of about 492 staff members, from an initial staff strength of ten.

Mr. Debo Olateju, Director of Finance, said the Institute of Human Virology needed to increase its productive use of Sage 300, and chose AWCape because of its experience in Sage 300 projects and its African footprint.

“The training would update the participants’ knowledge regarding current developments on the ERP software. We are also hopeful that the training would further enhance and enrich our reports as it is planned to align the software templates with our Donors’ requirements, using the Business Intelligence Reports module of the software.” added Mr. Olateju.

The Finance Director further confirmed that there are currently 25 licensed Sage 300 users at IHVN including 10 users on the Peresoft Cashbook. Other modules of the software such as the Payroll, Procurement and Fixed Assets have been implemented and users of these modules from other Departments of the Institute are likely to be sent to AWCape for capacity development in not a distant future.

“The Sage 300 training programmes aim to help users make the most of the latest features and technology in their business management software,” says Dr Khalil du Plessis, Resource Manager at AWCape. “The 2016 training programme focusses on the latest release of Sage 300c (cloud), a fully web-enabled system that can be deployed in a virtual or cloud environment. The latest software updates and training programmes ensure that companies who invested in Accpac continue to reap the benefits of new technologies, such as mobile access to their business systems. This is a great benefit for organisations such as Nigeria’s Institute of Human Virology with its distributed user base across Nigeria.”

Our experience and dedication to quality products and services is what sets AWCape apart from our industry peers.
